Brent attended Belmont University and graduated cum laude in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice. In 1997 he graduated from Regent University in Virginia with a Master of Arts in Public Policy and a Juris Doctor. He was in private practice after graduation until he went to work for the state of Tennessee’s Department of Children’s Services where he spent several years prosecuting child abuse cases. In 2005 he went back to private practice working for Blackburn and McCune as an attorney in their Legalshield division. This contract led to working for Merritt Webb PLLC for nearly 20 years where he received multiple client service awards as voted by the Tennessee Legalshield membership.
